xTreme Micro Copter / Picoo Z electric RC Helicopter

I saw one of the xTreme Micro Copters, that is very like the Picoo Z micro electric helicopter, at my local hobby shop while picking up some parts for another rc plane and had to have it. They never would have gotten me if they didn't have a demo version sitting on the counter though. Playing with it while waiting for the other parts sold me!

The xtreme micro copter and the picoo z are virtually identical

The xTreme Micro Copter is incredibly small along with the Picoo Z it is billed as the smallest and lightest Micro R/C Helicopter in the World. It Measures only six inches long and weighs a miniscule 10 grams. These things literally fit in the palm of your hand. There are also 3 frequencies so you can fly up to 3 helicopters together. Make sure you know in advance though which you have because you can't change the frequency, you just buy the correct one from the start.

So, after I played with the xTreme Micro Copter for a bit I checked out RCGroups from some mods and discovered that this may be a copy of the original I did not know about the Picoo Z at the time which I think is the original.

Get the Picoo Z RC Helicopter here!

After banging it around my rather small living room and getting the hang of it I decieded to look over the RC Groups forum for mods. Two that made a nice difference in how it flies are the "hammerhead" mod that attaches a small canard the nose which catches the rotor wash and helps the helicopter move forward and the boom mod that is simply a piece of tape hanging down from the boom. It damps the yaw response. Both together make the little Micro Copter really stable and easy to fly. n fact, my 7-year old daughter flies mine regularly and has gotten the hang of it very quickly. We'll be getting another one around December 25th I predict!

I'd never have thought this thing would be so fun. Glad I got it. Mine flies great.
