Associated RC18T 1/18 4 wd Stadium Truck
I think this is currently my favorite 1/18 scale radio control truck and the main
place I am using it is the backyard! We live in an urban area and space
is at a premium. The race course I can set up is about 20x60 feet and
it is the perfect size for r/c trucks of this scale.
The RC18T available in an RTR version as well as a Factory Team 18T
version. I opted for the RTR version because it is easy to get going
right out of the box. The RTR RC 18 T is a 1/18-scale electric stadium
truck with a 4WD drivetrain, oil-filled coil-over shocks at all four
corners. The RTR version I got includes the radio control, motor, micro ESC, receiver
and batteries. Ready-To-Run, you can have your new RC18T on the track
in no time. All the performance you would expect from Team Associated,
in a smaller package you can run just about anywhere.
I really like the all wheel drive. I also have a Losi Mini-T which was
my first 1/18 scale rc truck that has two wheel drive and it is a blast
too but the 4 WD of the RC18t really pulls it out of corners well and
it is much easier to get it unstuck off or obstacles too.
In addition to both of the above trucks I also have the 1/10 scale
RC10T4 with a Novack brushless. I just don't get to drive it all that
often although I have had a blast with it at a local skate park as well
as an urban BMX track along the Milwaukee River. It is just too big and
fast for my backyard.
If you are interested in doing it yourself you can get more performance from the Factory Team 18T with upgrades that include:
Blue Aluminum Threaded Shocks
Blue Aluminum Dogbones
Titanium Turnbuckles
Blue Aluminum Heatsink Motor Mount
Blue Graphite Battery Strap
Blue Aluminum M3 Locknuts
Carbide Steel Diff Balls
Also included are 18T wheels, tires and a clear truck body with decals
and window masks. Does not include motor, servo, speed controller,
receiver, or battery. This is a customizers dream!
Since the 18T was introduced Associated has also come out with the
RC18B 4-WD Buggy and the RC18MT 4WD Monster Truck. These look like a
blast for close quarters racing as well! I look forward to giving each
a go.
