I bought this model while I was attending Soar Utah 2004. I left my
trusty 7.2 volt Multipro at home and REALLY needed a Dremel to finish
up the installation of the radio gear in my RaceM. This Dremel is a
10.8V rotary tool with variable speeds from 5,000 - 35,000 rpm.
This Dremel is a 10.8V rotary tool with variable speeds from 5,000 -
35,000 rpm. This is the first Dremel with a Lithium-Ion battery. If you
are into electric models you know this means more voltage and longer
run times in a nice, compact package. Lithium-Ion batteries hold a
charge up to six times longer in storage than Ni-Cad batteries, so it's
ready when you are. The manufacturer says the new Lithium-Ion Cordless
is the strongest, fastest, highest performing cordless rotary tool on
the market. From my experience I don’t doubt it!
The 8000 series Dremel is the first battery powered rotary tool I’ve
come across that comes close to the performance of the corded models
I’ve used for years. It features the same power and speed as a corded
rotary tool but offers the freedom of a cordless tool. It accepts a
wide assortment of attachments and accessories, allowing use just about
anywhere! In addition the 8000-01 has battery gauge that tells you how
much life is left before a recharge is needed. If you like to keep the
battery on its charger you won’t shorten the charge capacity because
Li-Ion batteries don’t suffer from the memory issues plaguing other
battery formulations.
Features:
- Variable Speed 5,000 To 35,000 RPM With The Same Torque & Speed As A Corded Tool
- The Battery Holds A Charge 6 Times Longer Than Standard Ni-Cad & Will Hold A Charge For 2 Years.
If you want to buy the Dremel 8000-01 on line you can get it at Amazon.com.
