RC Trucks : Rock Crawlers
RC Rock Crawling in Milwaukee
Just south of the South Shore Yacht Club, on Milwaukee's Near South Side, is South Shore Park. Just behind the extensive playground is a jetty/pier that extends a couple of hundred feet into the harbor and on this spit of land are rocks. Lots of them!

Modeling Tools
Dremel Stylus Cordless Rotary Tool
When I first saw the Dremel Stylus, a cordless rotary tool, I knew I had to give it a try because it incorporates several features I've been looking for. Variable speed, Easy to hold grip, Cordless, Lithium powered for long run times and it uses standard Dremel bits. I originally picked this tool up after Christmas 2006 and have about 9 months of use on it. It is great. Out of half a dozen Dremels it is the one I use most often for modeling.

RC Cars : Micro Cars
Drifting with an Associated RC 18R
Got the radio control drifting bug watching a few online videos and decided that the first car I'd try this interesting sideways form of rc driving with is my new Associated RC 18R rally car. Two reasons prompted me to give this car a go first.

RC Helicopters : Electric Helicopters
Co-Axial RC Helicopters Are Easy to Fly
Co-axial helicopters are a step up from the very popular micro helicopters that represent the entry level into the world of rc heli flying. Co-axial helicopters are the first step in getting true forward/reverse control of heli flight. Where micro-helis can hover and rotate left and right, they rely on weighted noses or rotor wash on a canard to provide forward motion and then can not move in reverse. Co-axial helis, sometimes referred to as dual-rotor or contra-rotating helicopters, have 2 sets of rotor blades one on top of the other, rotating in opposite directions, to provide 360 movement of the helicopter.

Madison Wisconsin Handlaunch Contest - 7/15/07
The 2007 1.5 m HAND LAUNCH CONTEST will be held at Paul’s Turf and Tree Nursery near Marshall (same place as usual). This relatively low key event provides a hands on competition for these little gliders. Newcomers to this aspect of flying are encouraged to participate in this fun event. You can gain a lot of flight experience with the typical hand launch tasks and contest format. The contest is flown man-on-man by rounds, and typically involves activity by all competitors during each round. We encourage on-lookers to come watch and even get involved as timers.
