Death Metal Garage (DMG) NAT 1/18th Scale Mini Rock Crawler
The DMG NAT is a replacement tuber chassis for the Losi Mini Rock
Crawler. The build quality is top-notch and DMG is a super place to
work with.
I decided to start with a semi droop setup since I had the stock shocks
and I like the way the black shocks look plus, after setting up the
shocks, I think they might work well. We will see. I used 50 wt Losi
oil and some short pen springs inside the shock bodies.

Tamiya CR-01 Land Cruiser 40 RC Rock Crawler
Wow, what a sweet rig! This is my second rc rock crawler. I got a
Scorpion RTR to mess around with and then got this Tamiya Land Cruiser
CR01 as a project. I spent a couple of weeks on and off building the
Land Cruiser 40 which gave me a chance to mess around with the Scorpion
on the rocks so I had some experience when it was finally time to give
the Land Cruiser a go I was pleasantly surprised that is worked as well
or better than the Scorpion RTR in many conditions and on different
surfaces.

Radio Equipment
JR XS3 Pro Surface Radio Control
I've been using the JR XS3 Pro for a few years now. In fact, it came
out in 2003 and while it is a couple of years old at this point, and
not the trendy 2.4GHz that is popular now but the 75MHz frequency
spectrum, it is still fine for surface use and the adjustability of the
radio has made it perfect for every thing from my HPI Micro RS4s, to an
Associated TC4, to an Associated T4 and finally in my Tamiya CR-01 Rock
Crawler. A bonus to this being a 75Mhz radio is that you can get a
top-notch radio at a reasonable price. I've seen this radio new for
well under $200 and on eBay used for even less.

RC Rock Crawling in Milwaukee
Just south of the South Shore Yacht Club, on Milwaukee's Near South
Side, is South Shore Park. Just behind the extensive playground is a
jetty/pier that extends a couple of hundred feet into the harbor and on
this spit of land are rocks. Lots of them!

Modeling Tools
Dremel Stylus Cordless Rotary Tool
When I first saw the Dremel Stylus, a cordless rotary tool, I knew I
had to give it a try because it incorporates several features I've been
looking for. Variable speed, Easy to hold grip, Cordless, Lithium
powered for long run times and it uses standard Dremel bits. I
originally picked this tool up after Christmas 2006 and have about 9
months of use on it. It is great. Out of half a dozen Dremels it is the
one I use most often for modeling.

Drifting with an Associated RC 18R
Got the radio control drifting bug watching a few online videos and decided that the first car I'd try this interesting sideways form of rc driving with is my new Associated RC 18R rally car. Two reasons prompted me to give this car a go first.
